Abstract
- A recent study conducted in Igarassu, Brazil, by the University of Pernambuco focused on the density of Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes in relation to socioenvironmental conditions in areas with indeterminate transmission of lymphatic filariasis. The research found that the average number of mosquitoes per household was 6.8, with higher densities in high-risk areas compared to low-risk areas. The study suggests that identifying areas with higher mosquito density can help prioritize vector control actions and reduce associated costs.
