Abstract

A study conducted at Tanta University in Egypt compared the effectiveness of topical tacrolimus ointment and topical hydrocortisone cream in treating pediatric atopic dermatitis (AD). The study found that tacrolimus reduced inflammatory biomarkers more effectively than hydrocortisone in children with AD. Both treatment groups showed improvement in quality of life, but no significant differences were observed between the two groups. This research provides new insights on TARC, CTACK, TSLP, and E-selectin in the management of atopic dermatitis in children. [Extracted from the article]
