Abstract

A study conducted at Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital in China focused on evaluating the diagnostic performance of digital mammography (DM) and digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) combined with AI-based strategies for breast masses less than or equal to 2 cm. The study utilized radiomics and deep learning methods to extract features from breast mass images for benign and malignant classification. Results showed that the combination of DM and DBT with AI-based strategies had higher diagnostic accuracy compared to individual models, with deep learning models demonstrating superior performance. The research concluded that AI-based methods, particularly deep learning, can significantly enhance diagnostic capabilities in breast cancer screening. [Extracted from the article]
