Abstract

A recent meta-analysis conducted by researchers at the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine in Changsha, People's Republic of China, explored the effects of curcumin supplementation on blood pressure and endothelial function in patients with metabolic disorders. The study found that curcumin significantly decreased diastolic blood pressure, pulse wave velocity, and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 levels, while increasing flow-mediated dilation. However, curcumin did not significantly impact systolic blood pressure and Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 1 levels. The research suggests that curcumin may be an effective adjunctive therapy for improving blood pressure and endothelial function in patients with metabolic disorders. [Extracted from the article]
