Abstract
- Researchers at Columbia University conducted a study to identify prognostic factors associated with improved patient-reported outcomes in elderly patients undergoing spinal deformity surgery. The study found that baseline health status, adverse events, and severity of adverse events were predictive of achieving the minimal clinically important difference (MCID) in patient-reported outcome measures. No surgical, clinical, or radiographic variables were identified as prognostic factors for reaching MCID. The findings were published in the Global Spine Journal. [Extracted from the article]
