Abstract

Researchers from Shanghai Jiao Tong University have conducted a systematic review on the prevalence, antimicrobial resistance, and genomic characterization of Salmonella enterica serovar Indiana in China. The study found that S. Indiana is a significant foodborne pathogen in China, with high levels of antimicrobial resistance observed. The research highlights the urgent need for strategies to prevent the further dissemination of these multidrug-resistant pathogens and emphasizes the importance of surveillance, prudent antimicrobial use, and international collaboration to safeguard public health and food safety standards.
