Abstract
- The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) conducted a study on global patterns of leukemia in 185 countries in 2022, finding that leukemia ranked as the second most common hematological malignancy worldwide after non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The research revealed that acute myeloid leukemia (AML) was the most common leukemia in adults, while acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) was the most common in children. The study highlighted clear geographical variations in leukemia subtypes among adults and children, emphasizing the need for further research to understand these differences and support cancer control strategies.
