Abstract
- A study published in Health & Medicine Week explores the use of chemostat culturing to reduce fecal eukaryotic virus load and delay diarrhea after virome transplantation. The research suggests that chemostat propagation can effectively deplete eukaryotic viruses from donor feces while maintaining a diverse bacteriophage community, potentially reducing side effects in newborn virome recipients. While the study provides promising results, further optimization of chemostat culture conditions is needed to preserve the donor phageome. This preprint has not yet undergone peer review.
