Abstract
- The article explores the work of feminist artists Jenny Watson, Julie Rrap, and Maria Kozic, focusing on their interest in self-portraiture and play. Watson's paintings merge autobiography with fiction, using materials of commodified femininity to delve into the messy textures of life. Rrap reimagines Edvard Munch's work in her self-portraits, while Kozic challenges patriarchal anxieties through monstrous and grotesque depictions of women. The artists' creations reveal the transformative influence of cultural debris and the endless malleability of images. [Extracted from the article]
