Abstract

A study conducted by Beihang University researchers in Beijing, China, focused on the effects of simulated high altitude on color discrimination in 35 healthy participants aged 20-26. The study found that exposure to different altitudes of low-pressure hypoxia resulted in changes in color vision, with higher Total Error Scores observed at higher altitudes and after longer exposure durations. The research concluded that acute low-pressure hypoxia worsens color vision, with Tritan (Blue-Yellow) axis loss being most significant under hypoxia. This study provides valuable insights into the impact of altitude and hypoxia on color discrimination. [Extracted from the article]
