Abstract
- Researchers at Jiangsu University conducted a study on the functional characterization of the 6-phosphogluconate dehydratase operon in the industrial producing strain Pseudomonas plecoglossicida JUIM01. The study focused on the structural characteristics and roles of the operon in regulating glucose consumption and 2-ketogluconic acid metabolism. Findings showed that the knockout of the edd gene had a negative effect on cell growth and re-growth, benefiting 2KGA production, while the deletion of glk had an adverse impact on 2KGA production. The research aims to provide a theoretical basis for improving 2KGA production through metabolic engineering strategies and optimizing P. plecoglossicida as chassis cells.
