Abstract

A recent qualitative study conducted at Edinburgh Napier University explored the support requirements of survivors of Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD). The study found that SCAD survivors emphasized the need for greater awareness among healthcare professionals, tailored physical activity advice, and formal psychosocial support post-event and during recovery. The research highlighted the importance of early SCAD-specific education, individualized physical activity prescriptions, and the use of wearable technology to support survivors in returning to an active lifestyle. The study concluded that SCAD support programs should consider female physical activity preferences, as SCAD predominantly affects women. [Extracted from the article]
