Abstract

Researchers at I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in Georgia have conducted a study on the resonant method of heating magnetic nanoparticles in hyperthermia for cancer treatment. The study found that by applying a resonant radio frequency field to magnetic nanoparticles, tumor temperatures could be increased by 6 degrees in about 60 seconds, enough to destroy malignant cells while leaving healthy cells unharmed. This research has been peer-reviewed and published in Physica B Condensed Matter. For more information, readers can contact the authors at the university in Tbilisi. [Extracted from the article]
