Abstract

Researchers at the Faculty of Fisheries in Bangladesh conducted a study on the freshwater mussel Parreysia corrugata in the Padma River. The research focused on the population dynamics and reproductive strategy of the species, which has been facing a decline in recent years. The study found that environmental factors such as water temperature, dissolved oxygen, and water level were crucial in explaining mussel body condition and reproductive strategies. Conservation measures to protect the natural habitats of P. corrugata from adverse physicochemical and hydrological factors were recommended. [Extracted from the article]
