Abstract

A recent study from the School of Psychology in Galway, Ireland, explores the implementation of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) programs for gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (gbMSM). The research uses critical discourse analysis to examine how language and power dynamics influence the understanding and delivery of HIV prevention through PrEP programs. By highlighting issues with current discourses, the study aims to promote more reflective and inclusive perspectives in PrEP program research to enhance their acceptability and implementation.
