The aim of this contribution is to explore the work of Lorand Gaspar through the interpretation of some metaphors that, on the one hand, unveil the author’s idea of poetic language and, on the other, exemplify the essence of a rhetorical figure that has been at the centre of a long-standing debate among scholars. The purpose of the analysis is mainly to demonstrate how metaphors and poetic writing lead to a fracture within the recognised and shared categorical system, allowing thus the emergence of a new and unprecedented thought.
