Abstract

A study conducted at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Florida, explored how genetics may influence the effectiveness of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program for breast cancer survivors. The research found that genetic variants could moderate the program's impact on cognitive functioning and symptoms among participants. While the effects were small, the study suggests that personalized intervention programs tailored to individuals' genetic profiles could be developed for breast cancer survivors. The study was peer-reviewed and published in Biological Research For Nursing. [Extracted from the article]
