Abstract
- A recent study conducted by the University of Alberta in Canada focused on improving care for patients with acute kidney injury (AKI) after hospital discharge. The research implemented a risk-guided intervention to enhance adherence to recommended processes of care for chronic kidney disease (CKD) in high-risk patients. Results showed that the intervention group had higher rates of receiving treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE-I) or angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARB), statins, and nephrology specialist follow-up compared to the usual care group. The study highlights the importance of tailored interventions to improve outcomes for AKI survivors in primary care settings. [Extracted from the article]
