Abstract

A recent study conducted at the University of Turin examined the stigma towards individuals with mental disorders among healthcare workers in Italy. The research found that healthcare workers, especially nurses and those experiencing burnout, exhibited higher levels of stigma towards patients with mental conditions. Conversely, professionals working in psychiatric settings and those with personal or family history of mental disorders showed lower levels of stigma. The study highlights the importance of developing targeted strategies to reduce stigma in healthcare workers to ensure that individuals with mental disorders have access to necessary healthcare services.
