Abstract
- Researchers at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, have identified a functional variant, rs9344, at 11q13.3 that regulates ccnd1 expression in multiple myeloma with t(11;14). The G allele within CCND1 is a significant susceptibility allele for t(11;14), with a biological preference for the G allele in this cytogenetic abnormality. The study, supported by the National Cancer Institute, highlights the importance of the rs9344 G enhancer in increasing CCND1 expression in multiple myeloma. [Extracted from the article]
