Abstract

A recent study conducted at Chengde Medical College in Hebei, China, focused on analyzing the changes in Th cells and cytokines in the peripheral blood of patients with multiple myeloma. The study included 23 newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients and 23 healthy individuals as the control group. The research found significant differences in Th1 and Th2 lymphocytes and cytokines before and after treatment, as well as during bacterial infections, suggesting that these changes may serve as indicators of bacterial infection in multiple myeloma patients. The study was supported by the Foundation of Health Commission Scientific Research of Hebei and has been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
