Abstract
- Researchers at Yale University School of Medicine conducted a study on the relationship between cannabis use and metabotropic glutamate receptor 5 (mGlu5) availability in individuals with trauma-related psychopathology. The study found that past-year cannabis use was associated with higher mGlu5 availability in certain brain regions, and participants with cannabis use reported lower depressive symptoms. These findings suggest important implications for understanding the interaction between cannabis use and glutamatergic neurotransmission in trauma-related psychopathology.
