Abstract
- A recent study conducted at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, focused on using machine learning to analyze the risk factors associated with graft failure and contralateral ACL injuries after primary ACL reconstruction. The study found that younger age, lower BMI, earlier return to sports, and delayed surgical intervention were common risk factors for both types of injuries. Machine learning models outperformed traditional logistic regression in predicting these outcomes, highlighting the potential of AI in improving patient care and outcomes in orthopedic surgery.
