Abstract

A study conducted by Kangwon National University in Chuncheon, South Korea, focused on synthesizing gum Arabic-encapsulated silver nitroprusside nanocomposites to enhance antibacterial properties while minimizing toxicity. The nanocomposites demonstrated stability, maintained antibacterial efficacy, and mitigated cytotoxic effects on cells. The research suggests that these nanocomposites have potential as antibacterial agents in food preservation applications, particularly in extending the shelf-life of food products. The study was peer-reviewed and published in Environmental Research, highlighting the importance of utilizing nanotechnology for food safety. [Extracted from the article]
