Abstract

A recent study conducted by the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences focused on the clinical and prognostic characteristics of acute Branch Atheromatous Disease (BAD)-related stroke. The study, which enrolled 476 patients from 20 Chinese hospitals, found that BAD-related stroke presents distinct demographic, clinical, and prognostic features, with a high incidence of early neurological deterioration and a low risk of stroke recurrence. The research highlighted the need for further high-quality studies to determine optimal acute-phase treatment strategies for BAD-related stroke. [Extracted from the article]
