Abstract

Professor Marcus Maurer, a renowned clinical allergy researcher, tragically passed away at the age of 58 while hiking in Italy. His contributions to mast cell and urticaria research were exceptional, and he played a pivotal role in advancing treatments for patients with urticaria and angioedema. Beyond his academic achievements, he was known for his ability to connect with people, educate patients, and inspire colleagues in the field of allergology. His untimely death is mourned by the European and global allergology community, and his memory will be honored for years to come. [Extracted from the article]
