Abstract

Numerical simulation results obtained for the effect of the discharge gap nonuniformity in a barrier-discharge ozone generator exerted on the operational characteristics thereof are presented. An ozonizer with a cylindrical shape of the electrodes is considered, the nonuniformity level is determined by displacing electrode axes with respect to each other. The volumetric flow rate distribution of the working gas and the active power released in the barrier discharge throughout the cross section of the ozone generator for several nonuniformity levels have been obtained, and their profound nonuniformity is shown. A mutually amplified negative effect of the obtained distributions exerted on the synthesis of ozone has been revealed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
