Abstract
- Oriented polyacrylonitrile (PAN) films were prepared and treated with hot stretching method to obtain higher degree of orientation. The PAN fiber membrane was infiltrated with thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) to prepare oriented PAN membrane reinforced TPU composite membrane. The tensile properties of the composite material were studied, and the tensile strength, modulus, and toughness all increased with the increase of orientation. The interfacial miscibility between the matrix and nanofibers was observed using Raman spectroscopy, and morphology, properties, and reinforcement mechanism of the composite material were analyzed combining scanning electron microscopy technique. The results indicate as the orientation increases, the compatibility between the matrix and fibers improves, and the mechanical properties of the composite material also improved.
