Abstract
- A study conducted at Zhejiang University in China explored the relationship between elevated serum anti-Saccharomyces cerevisiae antibody (ASCA) levels and gut mycobiota dysbiosis as potential biomarkers for diagnosing Parkinson's Disease (PD). The research involved 393 subjects and found that serum ASCA IgG and IgA levels were significantly higher in PD patients compared to healthy controls and those with essential tremor. The study concluded that elevated serum ASCA levels and enriched gut Saccharomyces cerevisiae may be indicative of de novo PD. [Extracted from the article]
