Abstract

A study conducted at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, explored the relationship between aberrant right subclavian artery anatomy and dysphagia. The research found that surgical intervention, specifically subclavian reimplantation, successfully resolved dysphagia in four children, allowing them to resume a normal diet and gain appropriate weight postoperatively. While this condition is rare, the study suggests that aberrant right subclavian artery anatomy should be considered as a potential cause of dysphagia in select cases. [Extracted from the article]
