Abstract

Researchers at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in the United Kingdom conducted a study on the impact of Occupational Therapy (OT) pre-assessment for patients with low grade gliomas (LGGs) undergoing surgery. The study found that patients with complex needs who received OT pre-assessment had significantly reduced post-operative length of stay and OT resource utilization. Feedback from patients, surgeons, and healthcare professionals was overwhelmingly positive, indicating the benefits of this service. Further research is needed to explore the potential benefits of pre-assessment for a larger patient population and to identify key variables and interventions for improvement.
