Abstract

Researchers at Inova Fairfax Hospital conducted a study on upper tract urothelial cancer (UTUC) and its genomic profiling in relation to the effectiveness of platinum-based chemotherapy. The study found that patients with non-luminal molecular subtypes of UTUC had poor overall outcomes, with limited overall survival and aggressive disease progression. The research suggests that further studies are needed to clarify the benefits of next-generation sequencing for clinical use in UTUC patients. The study was published in Exploration of Targeted Anti-tumor Therapy and can be accessed for free online. [Extracted from the article]
