Abstract

A recent study conducted by the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences in Guangzhou, China, focused on the dynamic deformylation of 5-formylcytosine and decarboxylation of 5-carboxylcytosine during the differentiation of mouse embryonic stem cells into mouse neurons. The research explored novel DNA demethylation pathways and their roles in regulating cell fate. The study found that deformylation and decarboxylation activities changed during the differentiation process, independent of DNA cytosine methyltransferases and ten-eleven translocation enzymes. This peer-reviewed research provides valuable insights into stem cell research and cell fate regulation. [Extracted from the article]
