Abstract
- Researchers at the University of California Irvine Health conducted a study on the impact of a standardized post-craniotomy wound care protocol on surgical site infections (SSI). The study involved adult patients undergoing craniotomy surgeries at a medical center in Orange County, California. Results showed that the protocol, which included cleaning the incision and adjacent hair with chlorhexidine cloths, led to a significant decrease in SSIs. The research has been peer-reviewed and published in Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology. [Extracted from the article]
