Abstract

A scoping review conducted by the University of Pavia in Italy analyzed 28 studies on decision regret among patients with non-communicable diseases in North America and Europe. The research highlighted the importance of patient-clinician communication quality in influencing decision regret, which often stems from discrepancies between expected and actual treatment outcomes. The study emphasized the need for enhanced communication strategies and personalized treatment plans to reduce decision regret and improve patient outcomes in healthcare. Improved patient-clinician communication and informed consent processes were identified as key factors in addressing regret in healthcare settings. [Extracted from the article]
