Abstract

Researchers from Helgeland Hospital in Mosjoen, Norway, conducted a study on the relationship between childhood trauma types and the effectiveness of antipsychotic treatment in schizophrenia spectrum disorders. The study found that increased levels of sexual abuse and physical neglect were associated with higher levels of psychosis symptoms during treatment with antipsychotics. The results suggest that addressing trauma in individuals with schizophrenia spectrum disorders may improve treatment outcomes. This research was supported by various health authorities and has been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
