Abstract
- A recent study from the Department of Microbiology in Tamil Nadu, India, focused on designing eco-friendly feminine hygiene sanitary napkins using pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) for sustainability. The research compared the properties of PALF pulp obtained through different pulping methods and developed prototypes of sanitary napkins. Results showed that the PALF-based prototype performed better than commercially available sanitary pads, suggesting PALF as a promising material for sustainable feminine hygiene products. The study has been peer-reviewed and offers insights into the potential global impact of PALF in hygiene products. [Extracted from the article]
