Abstract
- Researchers from the College of Engineering and Technology in Tamil Nadu, India, conducted a study on potential inhibitors of the multidrug efflux pump mepA in Helicobacter pylori, a Gram-negative bacterium that infects the human gastrointestinal mucosa. Through in-silico approaches like molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations, they identified three natural compounds with high binding affinities towards mepA, suggesting their potential to inhibit the efflux pump and enhance antibiotic action against multidrug-resistant pathogens. The study highlights the promise of these compounds in developing novel therapeutic strategies. For more information, readers can refer to the Chemical Papers journal. [Extracted from the article]
