Abstract
- A recent study conducted at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) focused on understanding individual accessibility to naloxone, an antidote for opioid overdoses, among people who use drugs in San Diego, California. The study utilized surveys and qualitative interviews to explore factors influencing naloxone accessibility, revealing that individual attitudes and community-level barriers play a significant role. Findings highlighted the importance of harm reduction outreach and peer-to-peer support in improving naloxone accessibility, emphasizing the need for interventions addressing both individual perceptions and community obstacles. This research, published in the International Journal of Drug Policy, provides valuable insights for fatal overdose prevention strategies in San Diego. [Extracted from the article]
