Abstract

The article discusses the transformation of Lindbergh High School's static library into the Idea Center, a dynamic learning space designed to facilitate community, exploration, collaboration, and hands-on learning. The renovated space features a central commons area with flexible seating options, a glass-enclosed room for student-teacher meetings, and multi-functional classrooms that promote collaboration and learning by doing. The design draws inspiration from the St. Louis Gateway Arch and orbits of planets, creating a space where multiple elements interact to enhance the educational experience for students in the St. Louis Regional Program for Exceptionally Gifted Students (PEGS) and Lindbergh's LEAP program for gifted students.
