Abstract

This article focuses on the theology of economics, a discipline formed by Catholic clergy in a meeting at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana in 1983. The theology of economics was founded from the papers submitted by theologians participating at the conference. Under the main categories of theology of arts, moral theology, political theology, theology of marriage, issues such as capitalism and job creation emerged in discussions. It was expected of the conference to shed light on matters concerning the welfare of the family. A key player in the conference, Pope John Paul II talked about the nature of each national community.
