Abstract

The article "Prediction of COVID-19 severity using machine learning" discusses the development of a machine learning model to predict COVID-19 severity based on age and five long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs). The study involved 564 patients from four European cohorts, with the model achieving an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of .875 and an accuracy of .783. The ML model could be used to develop a molecular diagnostic assay for predicting disease severity and improving patient management during the COVID-19 pandemic. [Extracted from the article]
