- A recent study conducted at the University of Cape Town in South Africa focused on the challenges faced by low-income black women in balancing breastfeeding and paid employment. The research highlighted the conflict between breastfeeding and physical labor in the workplace, emphasizing the need for improved support for working mothers. The study, published in Gender & Society, analyzed the experiences of 33 women and recommended strategies to enhance workplace support for breastfeeding and promote gender equity.
