Abstract

A recent case report from the Medical University of Innsbruck highlights a rare occurrence of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma in a 13-year-old boy with a history of esophageal atresia and corrective surgery. The patient presented with respiratory distress and chronic complications, ultimately leading to a diagnosis of advanced ESCC. The study emphasizes the importance of considering the possibility of squamous cell carcinoma in adolescents with a history of corrective surgery for esophageal atresia and chronic infections.
