Abstract

The article explores the relationship between outdoor ambient temperature and symptoms of depression and mania in individuals with depression and bipolar disorder. Using ecological momentary assessment data, the study found that higher temperatures were associated with increased manic symptoms and decreased depressive symptoms. The research suggests the importance of understanding the impact of temperature on mood disorders and highlights the potential for using EMA methods to inform this understanding.
