Abstract
- A study conducted by Oregon State University analyzed trends in mental health symptoms and suicidal behaviors among sexual and gender minority college students in the US from 2008 to 2018. The research found significant increases in depressive and anxiety symptoms, as well as suicidal ideation among various groups, with disparities widening for sexual minority and transgender students. The study emphasizes the need for increased prevention efforts, particularly for SGM young people, to address the rising psychological distress and suicide risk trends observed in the study.
