Abstract
- A study conducted in Mexico City examined the incidence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in people living with HIV who were starting antiretroviral therapy. The research found that there was a high incidence of NAFLD in this population, with risk factors including baseline overweight, low HDL-cholesterol, and specific biomarkers at 48 weeks of treatment. The study concluded that these findings highlight the importance of monitoring and managing liver health in individuals with HIV starting antiretroviral therapy. [Extracted from the article]
