Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Mayo Clinic Arizona compared the length of hospital stays before and after the implementation of an endocrine monitoring protocol following surgery for pituitary adenoma. The study found that patients admitted after surgery had shorter hospital stays and a higher proportion of one-night admissions with the monitoring protocol in place. The research suggests that aggressive outpatient laboratory monitoring may make one-night admissions for surgery feasible. The study was published in the Journal of Neurological Surgery Part B: Skull Base and can be accessed online. [Extracted from the article]
