Abstract

A study conducted at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital explored microvascular changes in diabetic patients undergoing cataract surgery. The research found that phacoemulsification reduced the foveal avascular zone area in the superficial capillary plexus and increased vessel density in the radial peripapillary capillary plexus in diabetic patients without retinopathy six months post-surgery. This study provides new insights into diabetic retinopathy and its impact on optical coherence tomography angiography parameters after cataract surgery. [Extracted from the article]
