Abstract
- A study conducted by researchers at Stockholm University examined predictors of cognitive aging profiles over a 15-year period in 1,966 older adults in Sweden. The study identified three cognitive aging profiles: maintained high cognition, moderate cognitive decline, and accelerated cognitive decline. Factors such as sex, education, walking speed, smoking, loneliness, diabetes, and genetic markers were found to influence cognitive aging profiles. The research suggests that some of these factors are modifiable, offering insights into domain-specific and general cognitive aging processes. [Extracted from the article]
